With more than 25 years of experience, BioPed is the largest health-care franchise of this type in the world and has become the standard of excellence in alleviating foot-related discomfort.
They have recently entered into a partnership with the Canadian Diabetes Association.
Pedorthist/owner Robin White has been operating the Sudbury location for 17 years. His clinic is equipped with a lab where four Canadian certified pedorthists (C. Ped (c)’s) manufacture a full range of orthotics, provide adjustments and deliver specialized fitting services. This includes a broad range of fashionable, orthopaedic-quality footwear and compression hose.
“We are unique in that we manufacture our own orthotics while doing extensive footwear modifications on-site,” said White.
The majority of referrals come directly from physicians and specialists.
Bioped provides a full biomechanical evaluation including a gait analysis, Closed Kinetic Chain, and range of motion testing.
The patient’s lifestyle, relevant medical history, special needs and physician’s recommendations are all carefully considered before any treatment is recommended, said White.
Throughout the evaluation, BioPed’s pedorthist will discuss the patient’s condition and co-operatively develop a treatment plan. This approach improves patient compliance and ultimately accelerates improvement.
“If you are in need of orthotics, we can fabricate them on-site. We use the widest range of materials available with the ability to address even the most complicated of cases. Whether rigid, semi-rigid or soft orthotics, they are all fabricated on-site.
“Most importantly, we closely monitor our patient’s progress with scheduled follow-up appointments. Follow-ups are without fee, and if adjustments are required, they can be done while you wait,” said White.
BioPed’s staff offer clinics in Elliot Lake and Espanola. as well as a full service centre in North Bay, Little Current and Thunder Bay.
