Job applications are now being accepted for more than 2,000 job opportunities in natural resource management which are available through five unique programs: Ministry of Natural Resources internships; Ontario Ranger; Ontario Stewardship Ranger; Aboriginal Youth Work Exchange; and post-secondary co-op.
These opportunities are part of a broader youth employment initiative that includes the Ontario Internship and Summer Employment Opportunities programs.
The Ontario Ranger, for example, provides an eight-week summer program for 17-year olds (born in 1994). Successful candidates live and work at one of 13 Ontario Ranger camps and can gain job skills and training in health and safety, first aid leadership skills team building time management and professional work ethic.The Ontario Ranger Program can also offer the opportunity to obtain two high school co-operative education credits. The deadline to apply is March 25.
