May 1
One of Canada’s most distinguished chamber ensembles, the Molinari String Quartet, is coming to Sudbury to give the concluding concert of the 2009-10 season of the 5-Penny New Music Concert series, St. Peter’s United Church, 203 York Street, in Sudbury. General admission is $20 and $15 for students and seniors. The concert will start at 8 pm.Tickets are available at Black Cat, 96 Durham Street, Sudbury, or at the door. Doors open at 7 pm; music begins at 8: The CANARYS present critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Peter Katz in concert with special guest star and local celebrity Stef Paquette, Croatian Center, 571 Kathleen Street. Free for 6500 strikers and their families; everyone else is invited to contribute a minimum $10 donation. Cape Breton fiddler Ashley MacIsaac will headline the 2010 Greater Sudbury Celtic Festival and Highland Games which will be held May 22 and 23 at Ecole Secondaire du Sacre Coeur. This year's festival will feature Pipe Major Bill Livingstone's Northern Man CD Release, Comissioner's Own OPP Police Pipe Band, and an afternoon of military music on Sunday to celebrate the Canadian Naval Centennial.  Other events include A Clan Village, Traditional Vendors, and Free Kinsmen Club Pancake Breakfast, Scottish Heavy Events.  Tickets are on sale now at Records on Wheels and Rock Topi
