Female singer-songwriters hailing from the Sudbury area come together for an evening to
showcase their music in and eort to raise funds for the Canadian Mental Health Association.
The charitable lineup includes Sarah Craig, Cindy Doire, Faye Blais, Jess Lee, and Kristen Brutto.
The event will be hosted by Scott Merrield on Saturday, April 3 at St. Andrew’s
Place. Tickets are $17 in advance and $20 at the door.
Winner of the BEST SONGWRITER at the 2009 Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards, Sarah
Craig has mastered the webbing of the modern and traditional with her infusions of Jazz,
Gospel, and Folk. Quite the seasoned artist, Craig has become an inuential core to the Sudbury
music scene. Cindy Doire is an award-winning musical veteran whose multi-lingual performances
have gained her acclamations across Canada. This soulful, irtatious, and diverse artist
is currently working on a much-anticipated third album. Faye Blais has been described as
“continuing the thread started by Joni, picked up by Ani and fashioned by Feist”, with the
sweetest melodies coupled with raw acoustics that swiftly turns into the soundtrack to your life.
Two albums in tow and a third album/DVD to be released in May, this globetrotter has
serenaded audiences far and wide - including Taiwan, Canada, and Australia. Sudbury native
Jess Lee recently released her rst solo album under the guide of CANO’s Michael Kendel.
Inspired and stimulated by her Montreal home-base, Lee’s piano-infused ballads remain
passionate yet subtle. With the release of her album “Bright Lights”, Kristen Brutto has been
singing her way through the local music scene for some time. Brutto oers an upbeat and
sincere sound to this group of female artists. Sound for the event will be provided by Innovative

Sarah Craig, Cindy Doire and Faye Blais are in the running for this year’s Northern Ontario Music
and Film Awards for Best Album, among other categories, which will be held May 1st, 2010 in
the Great Hall at Laurentian University.

The Canadian Mental Health Association is a national charitable organization that supports and
advocates for mental health and well-being. Proceeds raised from Music for the Mind will help
support the Canadian Metal Health Association and their cause.
