Sudbury featured in Great Ontario Outdoor Adventure Campaign

December 11, 2009 Sudbury residents and holiday visitors are invited to stop by The Sudbury Welcome Centre, Ramakkos Outdoor Adventure Store or Science North for a complimentary copy of the 2010 Great Ontario Outdoor Adventure calendar. Featuring the parks of Ontario, the 2010 Great Ontario Outdoor Adventure calendar is putting the spotlight on Ontario's world-class adventure activities and destinations.
Sudbury and Georgian Bay have been selected as the focus of the 2010 Great Ontario Outdoor Adventure Trip of a Lifetime contest. In partnership with Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation, Sudbury Tourism will host the winners of this contest in August 2010, with a focus on the Georgian Bay Coastal Route and the great outdoor opportunities in our region.
Ontario has so much outdoor experiences to offer it is sometimes hard to grasp them all. Ontario Tourism has brought this depth of outdoor experiences to the forefront with the launch of the visually stimulating and content rich 2010 Great Ontario Outdoor Adventure calendar. The highlight of the calendar is the stunning photography, which will take you on a journey to both well-known and far-flung regions of Ontario. The images encapsulate breathtaking scenery with a blend of active adventures that create lasting impressions.
Outdoor aficionados and weekend warriors will celebrate the variety of content the calendar yields. Beyond the imagery, the calendar offers key outdoor event listings, details of the amazing Adventure of a Lifetime Contest, birds of Ontario and features Ontario Parks, National Parks and Conservation Areas. Moreover, what the calendar provides most is a glimpse into Ontario's active outdoor adventure side along with the means for everyone to get out and experience it. This includes those curious onlookers who have thought about taking a hike in the woods or wondered what it is like to paddle a canoe. The calendar makes the connection for newbies to nearby parks and conservation areas, where everyone can enjoy the outdoors. Also included is a link to www.ontariotravel.net/outdoor website, which is full of guided day long and multi-day outdoor experiences. Exploring the adventures found in your own backyard has never been easier.
The contest runs from Dec. 7, 2009 to May 14, 2010.
