Joys of middle management

If you are a middle manager, you know the joys of being the sandwich between your boss and your staff. You get it from the boss for being too easy on your staff. And you get it from the staff who think you are too hard on them.

I've done research on this and have come up with:

My boss is a genius.

My boss understands all the pressures I am under and why I can't meet my deadlines.

My boss has a great idea which will mean less work for me.

My boss was right to speak to me about goofing off too much.

My boss really knows what he/she is doing.

My boss doesn't doesn't mind when I am late or when I leave early.

When the boss is out of the office, the staff work extra hard.
