5th Edition of Wordstock Sudbury Literary Festival lineup announced

Wordstock Sudbury Literary Festival will be hosting their 5th edition on Thursday, November 1 to Saturday, November 3, 2018 with an impressive list of Canadian literary stars.

Plan to meet a diverse collection of authors, poets and screenwriters who are contributing to the culture and conversations across the nation.

“We started planning the 2018 festival the day after last year’s festival ended,” says Heather Campbell, festival director. “Every year we create a unique mixture of authors, poets, playwrights, screenwriters and songwriters. This year we have a dynamic collection of diverse voices we are convinced our audience will appreciate.”

Local authors and poets will again be featured in the festival program, including the new Greater Sudbury Poet Laureate Chloe LaDuchesse and Rosanna Micelotta Battigelli with her new book La Brigantessa.

The Festival will take place at the Clarion Hotel in downtown Sudbury with a variety of literary readings, masterclasses and lots of good books to discover. There will also be an industry panel for those wanting to learn more about getting their work published.

The 5th annual #Youthwords Writing Contest sponsored by The Sudbury Star will be launched in the fall and we look forward to awarding more emerging young writers. Getting a head start over the summer might be a good idea!

Early Bird Tickets will go on sale July 16, 2018 through Eventbrite.

Returning sponsors for this event are Rotary Club of Sudbury and Laurentian University, Department of English. We also welcome back community partners Le Salon du livre du Grand Sudbury and the Greater Sudbury Public Library, and look forward to welcoming Follett Books as the bookseller.
