Ron Tough appears in one-man play Spitting Slag Wednesday, May 1 at Moose Hall.
Mayworks Sudbury 2013 and the Sudbury and District Labour Council are hosting Northern Ontario’s only labour/arts festival during the month of May.
May 1 (Wednesday) – 7 pm – Moose Lodge – 212 Frood Rd – North Road Theatre’s platform presentation of Spitting Slag by Mansel Robinson. Followed by Mayworks Sudbury Celebration of May Day – Wine and Cheese
May 4 (Saturday) Music by Union Dues and Murder Murder – Towne House – 206 Elgin St. – $7 cover charge.
May 5 (Sunday) – Ilene Sova’s The Missing Women’s Project, a series of 18 paintings of missing and murdered women from Ontario.
1 pm – Meet the artist and listen to her presentation – 276 Cedar St.

May 6 – 7 pm (Monday) – Rainbow Centre, Rainbow Cinemas – FREE ADMISSION TO THE MOVIE, “MADE IN DAGENHAM”. This is a dramatization of the 1968
Strike at the Ford Dagenham car plant when female workers walked out in protest against sexual discrimination.
May 8 (Wednesday) – 7 pm – Supported by the Canadian Labour Congress and the Sudbury and District Labour Council, the STEPHEN LEWIS FOUNDATION presents their SOLIDARITY TOUR featuring three AIDS activists from Africa. This will provide a forum for these activists to tell their stories, share their expertise,and talk about their challenges and triumphs in dealing with the ravages of AIDS at the grassroots level. – OPSEU Meeting Room, Newgate Plaza.
