The Ride for Diabetes Research is becoming an exciting annual event around town. On Sept. 21, 2012 the third annual Ride took place at Tom Davies Square, with over 200 participants from 14 companies and raised over $64,000 in support of JDRF and diabetes research.
The Ride’s growing success can be attributed to the local Ride Cabinet. The Cabinet is a volunteer based committee of leaders in the Sudbury’s business community who either have an invested interest personally or for their company’s participation.
Bill Bray, RBC Regional Vice President for Ontario North, is starting his second term as Ride Chair for the 2013 Ride season. Bray has been instrumental is leading the cabinet and increasing awareness to local companies in the Sudbury area.
“As Ride Chair, I am both thrilled and humbled to be part of JDRF’s Ride for Diabetes Research! This year, once again, promises to be a highly spirited event as Corporate Sudbury comes together to make a heartfelt impact in the fight to cure type 1 diabetes (T1D).
I would like to not just invite, but challenge our corporate community to join me and my colleagues at RBC for this year’s Ride. Together, let’s raise more money than ever before, create some excitement, and make a real difference for individuals living with T1D.”
